Meet Kaila

I first settled into my love for theatre at the ripe age of 5 in my first onstage musical, as the spawn of two performers. My parents love to joke that I “had no choice”! Though that may be so, my love of theatre is deep rooted and an essential part of my make up.
I was bred into the theatre world from a young age, learning first-hand the sense of belonging and community it fosters. This is what inspires me every day to create and pursue art. I graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory (Class of 2020, oink!).
There, I took on numerous roles such as; sister of Alpha Psi Omega, performer in student and main stage productions, Assistant Director, Director, Scenic Designer, Choreographer, Dance Captain, and Swing, as well as a student, roommate, colleague, home chef, and friend.
It was there that I found a new love for casting and directing. I enrolled in Shenandoah’s accelerated graduate program, and will receive my Master’s of Science in Performing Arts Leadership and Management in May of 2021.
When not in class or on stage, I can usually be found in the kitchen cooking for (and with) my friends. This, of course, is a part of my never ending quest for the perfect pairing of red wine.
